The Medieval German towns along the Baltic Sea formed the Hanseatic League and left behind a rich cultural heritage. It is through a series of creative local designs that incorporate Hanseatic culture that this project aims to create a tourist route and revitalise the region's tourism industry. As the former Hanseatic towns were separated between East and West Germany during the Cold War, they were not only unevenly developed but also lacked integration; so the Hansestraße drawing on Japanese experience in local design, aims to create a brand identity and to plan an official website, special DB train and tourism posters.
